There is no sin upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they have eaten when they have adopted piety (taqwa), believed and performed good deeds; then again adopted piety (taqwa) and believed, and again adopted piety (taqwa) and performed good deeds. Allah loves those who do good. (Al-Maidah: 93)
Sayyidina Anasرضی اللہ عنہ narrates that he was serving wine to some guests in the home of (his stepfather) Sayyidina Abu Talhaرضی اللہ عنہ, when they heard the instruction from an announcer outside that liquor was unlawful (Haraam). Sayyidina Abu Talha رضی اللہ عنہ told him to go outside and hear what was being said. Sayyidina Anasرضی اللہ عنہ says that he went outside and then returned with the news that the announcer was proclaiming, “Bweare! Liquor has been made unlawful (Haraam)!” Upon hearing this, Sayyidina Abu Talha رضی اللہ عنہ instructed Sayyidina Anasرضی اللہ عنہ to dispose of all the liquor that they possessed. Sayyidina Anasرضی اللہ عنہ reports that he complied and the streets of Madinah were flowing with disposed wine.
