There is something precious, something important in our lives but we don’t have any idea about it. Haruki Murakami is a Japanese writer. His books and stories have been bestsellers in Japan as well as internationally with his work being translated into 50 languages. He once said, “Everyone is losing something precious, lost opportunities lost possibilities, feelings, we can never get back again.
When I read this for the first time I didn’t take it seriously. I had never lost anything like opportunities and possibilities, I thought I’d never missed any. But what I realized after a couple of months is that when a thing is in our hands it is of no importance but when someone takes it away from us that’s when we realize its meaning and importance in our lives.
There is one thing we called ‘sacrifice’.
Sometimes when you sacrifice something you are not losing it but just passing it to someone else. This is totally another thing, sacrificing is a virtue but what I observe in people is that when they have plenty of time they don’t make the most of it, they waste it. When they have good health they don’t take care of it, when they have parents they don’t care for them but when they lose such things they cry and regret it. You should know that every single thing in our life… including every moment, every gift, every person, every book is precious. Nothing is to be taken for granted. Don’t take things as worthless.
